Lakendra Lewis

Lakendra Lewis is a singer, actress, author and playwright who has performed onstage as both an amateur and a professional entertainer.

A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lakendra developed a passion for writing and storytelling at a young age but her first love was the theater. At age 14, she began appearing in numerous plays and musicals, garnering several local Best Actress awards, as well as work in radio and commercials.

When she was 17, Lakendra was chosen to sing for former Vice President Dan a brief stop in Corpus. That meeting lead to a chance to sing for state dignataries former Texas Govenor, Ann Richards and Phil Gramm. Lakendra also has shared Mary Wilson of the Supremes. Yet the desire to write never left, eventually took a job working as a news assistant for the Corpus Christi there, she received a fellowship to study journalism at the Freedom Forum Diversity at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennesse. Upon graduating from the Institute, returned to the CallerTimes
and after a brief stint as a reporter, left the newspaper freelance journalism. Some of her stories include interviews with musicians George Taylor Hicks, as well as May Pang, author of the books, Loving John photographs of John Lennon, and actor and radio personality, Pat Matthews, Internet radio program, "BeatlesARama."

But despite all of her talent and moderate success as a performer, inside, spiritually empty, unworthy and unfulfilled. In 2002, she rededicated herself to after five years of walking with Him, began to see herself not as people had as God saw her....a beautiful diamond in the rough!

Receiving this revelation helped Lakendra to realize her true purpose in life, which her talents not for her own glory, but to glorify God by helping other women true identity in Christ. At the urging of the Holy Spirit, Lakendra quit her job into fulltime ministry, using her gifts to disperse the love of Christ, one diamond

I want to sing songs, perform skits and that bring a message to people of just how much God wants a relationship with Lakendra recently became a published author and is currently at work on her She is also coauthor
of a children’s play, The Adventures of Quirkie and Fooma Jooma.
